| While in Sunny Palm Springs make sure to visit Sunnylands, the former Annenberg Estate, located in Rancho Mirage, California, is a 200-acre estate currently run by The Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands, a not-for-profit organization. The property was owned by Walter and Leonore Annenberg until 2009 and had been used as a winter retreat by the couple from 1966, when the house was completed. The property is "rich with historical significance," according to the city of Rancho Mirage, which declared Sunnylands an historic site in 1990. | The Palm Springs Windmill Tours is the only renewable energy wind farm tour that is endorsed by the Desert Wind Energy Association. Their tour will take you behind the fences onto their private grounds where no other tour will go. The tour starts at their tour headquarters where you will be given an overview of renewable wind energy, a history of our windmills since the inception in 1982 to today. Next, a private luxury bus takes you on the tour of the farms off property and ends with a free date shake at the Windmill Cafe.
