This is the grooviest home to hit our local market. Originally the desert retreat of screen star Sandra Dee (Gidget, Imitation of Life) and music legend Bobby Darin (Splish Splash, Mack the Knife), this original Alexander-built home is a classic Mid-Century.
Recently and lovingly renovated by West-coast, mid-century enthusiasts who wanted to honor Mid-Century Modern standards, and who commissioned nationally published interior designer and local favorite, Christopher Kennedy for a quintessential interior aesthetic, this home is the perfect backdrop for a flashback trip to Palm Springs with all the modern conveniences.
The colorful redesign captures the essence of the home’s heyday in feel, color, and texture, punctuated with memorabilia and reminders of its Hollywood pedigree.
With three bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,225 square feet of tastefully appointed interior living space, this is a hip home with big plans for outdoor entertaining. The South-facing side yard offers a primary suite patio, outdoor shower and sweet hammock for lazy naps and relaxation.
The large West-facing backyard offers walled privacy and fantastic views of Mt. San Jacinto. Enjoy swimming laps or just floating in the large 15 x 30 saltwater pool, or slip into the generous above ground spa. Take time to sip a glass of wine and catch up with friends over the gas fire pit or play a round of bocci ball.
The backyard has been meticulously landscaped with the perfect mix of grassy turf and desert landscaping - all beautifully lit for those twilight-into-night cocktail gatherings or a quiet, starlit al fresco dinner.
Walk through the custom metal gates and matching breeze block to enter SPLASH PAD Palm Springs courtyard entrance. The rear yard is immediately accessible, and the double enclosed garage opens across from the home’s entrance. Sandra Dee in her Coppertone best is ready to greet you inside!
The open floor plan allows for easy living between kitchen and casual dining and living areas. The stainless-steel kitchen enjoys a sink/dishwasher island and has been well-stocked with pots, pans, baking dishes, appliances and more.
A glass-backed wet bar and wine refrigerator is nestled beside the casual dining table that seats 6 with direct views of the pool and mountains. The living room is bright and cozy with a retro L-shaped couch that sits 6-8 comfortably. More poolside views or enjoy your favorite Golden Age movie from the high definition flatscreen TV. The home enjoys a Sonos sound system throughout, standard cable, and hi-speed internet (with 50mb down) that can easily support all your devices.
The sleeping quarters include two guest rooms (one queen and one with two twin beds) and a Primary Suite with glass sliders to its own patio and side yard exit. The bedrooms are bright with East and South facing views and enjoy flatscreen TVs.
This beautiful vacation rental is a short drive to downtown Palm Springs with its many bars, shops, restaurants, and art galleries and even closer to the boutique shops and restaurants of the Uptown Design District. Other Palm Springs attractions are similarly a short drive away - from area casinos to world renowned spa resorts, tennis, golfing, museums and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

This vacation rental is located in a peaceful and tranquil residential neighborhood perfect for your next poolside getaway. In order to keep the tranquility of the community, we ask that you be respectful and mindful of your neighbors while on vacation.
In order to maintain the highest quality of our homes and the peace and quiet of our neighborhoods, all guests must adhere to the city and house rules. The city prohibits music and loud noise. The city strictly enforces these rules and prohibits parties, events, music, street parking, and disruptive guests. No music is allowed at any time. Quiet hours are between 9:00pm and 10:00am and guests are asked to be inside and mindful of neighbors. Overnight guests shall not exceed the property’s posted occupancy.

For this, we will preheat your pool and ensure it is heated upon your arrival to a comfortable 86 degrees. Splash Pad was great - just like the photos, with an amazing view, comfortable furniture, and a great pool and hot tub. The kitchen is well equipped and the ac works great. Lovely location, close to everything but nice and quiet. We had a six-year-old with us and he loved the pool. We had an excellent time - don't hesitate to book!

Splash Pad in Palm Springs was a perfect spot for our family of 6 to stay this week. We loved the comfortable and uncluttered Midcentury Modern decor with the bright, cheerful color scheme. We kept commenting to each other about the gorgeous mountain views from the fully windowed rear of the home, and we loved the landscaping and fencing which created an indoor-outdoor living space feel to the place. We swam (in January!) in the 85 degree heated pool and sat in the hot tub and gathered around the outdoor fire pit. We grilled and cooked in the well-stocked kitchen, and all of us fit around the table -- which wasn't possible in many Midcentury Airbnbs. This would also be a great rental for a smaller group, but we were very comfortable here with a full house. Highly recommended!

Living room has great L-shaped sofa that can easily 4-5 people at once. Wonderful photo of Jean Smart enjoying the sofa. Living room also has great view of the pool and the mountains. Well-equipped kitchen. Outdoor pool and hot tub were great and come with heating option. House is well sound-proofed but you will hear occasional airplane overhead while you are outside enjoying the yard. You'll need to drive to grab coffee/food.

Great Splash Pad Weekend. Well designed mid century modern home and very nicely landscaped outdoor spaces. The house was very clean and ready for our visit; there was even a basket of treats for us to enjoy. It was a very comfortable, relaxing stay for the two of us, especially enjoyed the pool, reading in the hammock, and sitting by the fire pits. Loved the backyard and had a great time! We would definitely stay again at Splash Pad, a charmer with great outdoor living.
